Things are turning right now, and no one is watching. I am not a big fan of Obama, but he is doing a lot single-handedly to end the crimes in Iraq and Guantanamo. People are (maybe??) thinking twice about the greed of the earlier part of this decade and the consequences of that greed. Young people are experimenting with their lifestyles and beliefs. The difference is, we're not telling anyone (because we want to go back to the "straight" world after college), and we're not doing it cohesively. At the same time, we're acutely aware that we're committing global suicide and we're less concerned about it.
There is always that current of change -- nothing lasts! -- but things are coming to a head now. I get the sense that personal events are mirroring global ones and that we're either on the verge of a breakthrough or a breakdown.
I am really digging seeing the blue sky again this week, but my happiness at the end of the 6 month-long overcast period is tempered by temperatures in the 30s.
