Suddenly there is music...

To anyone interested in my progress on A Phantom Melody, I've now written 1,271 words of chapter five, and it's also tentatively titled.  I'll definitely be keeping up with my self-imposed schedule at this rate.

I probably would have had more written by now, but last night I sat down for about two hours and hashed out the first 2,000 words (roughly) of a short story I've been meaning to write for a while.  I'm also pushing myself to finish a lot of my open-ended story projects as the schoolwork slips out of overdrive, so I'm keeping track on here of my progress.  I find that such notation helps me to keep focused.  So, here are the stories I currently have unfinished, and a brief description of where I stand with them, from most completed to least.

Untitled Dragon Story -- 2,127 words written; 838 words of random planning
The Free Way -- 1,608 words written; hand-written planning (at least 2 pages front and back)
The Key -- 748 words written; planned out a bit, but in sporadic and disjointed places
The Arena -- 597 words written; not really planned, though I did discuss the concept with my friends

Hopefully, updating my progress on these frequently will give me cause to write more.  Since it'll be a while before I have a finished novel I can publish (mine's still at around 47,000 words and has been there for almost a month), I'm looking into getting some of my short fiction published, but of course before it can be published it has to be completed.

I have an eerie feeling that I'm writing completely to myself...

not totally to yourself. And I am quite interested in the story, I enjoy it...

You're actually reading? Yay! That story is the product of seeing the Phantom movie too many times and having too many entertaining discussions during PE with a bunch of people in drama...

Let's just say that half of the characters in the story didn't really need to be made up, they already existed :)
