I just had this realization that the books and DVDs currently scattered upon the coffee table in our common room is a really amusing microcosm for what Rebecca and I are like. I specifically realized this when putting a romance novel down on top of my copy of the HarperCollins Study Bible. The juxtaposition is fantastic.
In addition to Slightly Scandalous (which is just about everything the title promises) and the Bible, we've also got the first season of Will and Grace, and the sixth season of The West Wing. Add in the collection of fantasy/horror/sci-fi short stories for teens and the copies of Mrs. Dalloway and Faulkner's Absalom! Absalom! and you've made quite a statement. Even if that statement is just that more of my books are cluttering up table space than Rebecca's (though there was certainly a boring statistics book there at one point recently).
