I probably shouldn't comment on this, as I'm not American, but I will anyway. I agree with everything you said, but for me an enormous problem is the fact that people are wrongfully convicted. All the time. Everywhere. Until that problem is eliminated, and I can't see how it ever could be, there shouldn't be irreversible sentences.
