So basically my weekend has been an exercise in awesomeness. Now, had you asked yesterday, I probably would have moaned and complained my head off, because the first day of Edison MUN conference was terrible...

...but today was decidedly better than terrible. In fact, I'd say it's one of the better days I've had so far this year.

First, there was that whole getting to sit with Rick for half an hour while we waited for the awards ceremony to start. And he makes me smile so much...so needless to say, that was good. And then when they were calling awards, I wasn't even really nervous because I though I wouldn't get anything. I mean, it's Edison. I really wasn't expecting too much; I was happy with just being done with the whole thing.

So when they called me up for an Outstanding, I was pretty much in shock. I'd been joking with Rick that he needed to be more optimistic, because he kept on saying, "It's Edison, no one's going to win anything. We're definitely not getting any gavels." So I kinda gave him an "I told you so" look as I went up to get the Outstanding, which despite not being a gavel was really good for Edison.

And then as I was halfway to the stage, my chair who was announcing the awards goes, "Wait, we have a mistake, Russian Fed, you won the gavel!"

I was Russian Fed.

Needless to say, there was running and screaming involved, and loud cheering. Mission has once again taken home an Edison gavel...and I've been the one to do it. That just makes me feel better about myself. Granted, we got royally ignored in every committee but mine...but hey, one step at a time.

Then again, that means I did none of my homework this weekend, so now I'm heading off to finish the math homework...but oh well. (And I'm just now realizing that I don't even remember if we had physics homework. But I don't really care -- worst comes to worst, I can just do the physics in math class.)

And so goes another chapter in the story of my life.
