Hehe! I procrastinate!
Aug. 7th, 2005 10:05 amSo, since I don't want to read Crime and Punishment...
YOUR LIFE:
[x] They call me: Candace
[x] Also: Candycane, Testerosa, Chit, Holly, Hermione, Tigureye, Reading Redhead, Red, Clanswoman, Rea...I think that's it
[x] Sex: Female and proud!
REWIND:
[x] Most memorable memory: At the moment it involves my cousin Carissa jumping and dancing through the streets of Venice wearing a blue sparkly mask...
[x] Worst: Um...no idea. I've probably forgotten it :)
[x] First word uttered: Again, I don't know...probably the steriotypical "dada." Although when I was two I apparently informed my grandfather that I was "thinking of a hexagon." And I couldn't pornounce "Cheerio" -- I called them "Cheebos."
[x] First best friend ever: Katherine Simpson
FAST FORWARD:
[x] College planning to go to: Stanford, or maybe Berkeley if I don't get into Stanford.
[x] Future resident of: good old California! Somewhere between north and south. Orange County is just too expensive to live in, though I'm hoping that my parents will keep this house forever and just pass it down through the family...
[x] Wedding: Red roses, white gown, and my personal prince charming waiting for me at the altar. :)
[x] Children: I'd like to have them, but as long as they're healthy and I survive childbirth I don't care too much about gender.
[x] Looking forward to: seeing Wicked in San Francisco, being done with all my summer reading, being able to read for fun again, being done with high school
[x] NOT looking forward to: having to do the summer reading, school starting again, the last day of summer
PLAY:
[x] Feeling: procrastinatory, tired
[x] Listening to: Switchfoot
[x] Talking to: no one
[x] Doing: this survey
[x] Craving: time to myself, time in which I don't have to think about the responsibilities of school and schoolwork
[x] Thinking of: London and how much I want to go back there to my new second home
[x] Hating: that I can't be on vacation permanently, that summer is so short, that I have summer reading to do
LOVE:
[x] Love is: patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. Love is not rude, it is not self-centered, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices in the truth. Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.
[x] Love or lust: Love without a second thougth.
[x] Best love song: "As Long As You're Mine" from Wicked; "Alone" by Sanctus Real; "I'll Know" from Guys & Dolls...many more, but that's the tops at the moment.
[x] Is it possible to be in love w/ more than one person at the same time? I don't think so, though you could think you loved two people at the same time, I guess.
[x] When love hurts, you: cry, wipe away your tears, and go fix the problem remembering that you're a better person for every hardship you survive.
[x] True or false - All you need is love: Don't start me on that -- I'll sing "Elephant Love Medley" from Moulin Rouge. I'd have to say true. I'm alive because of the love of my God and Savior, and the living is made worthwhile by the love of my family and friends.
[x] Is there such thing as love at first sight? Hm. Yes and no. I don't know quite what I think about this.
THE OPPOSITE SEX:
[x] Turn on(s): chivalry, love of reading/writing/talking/anything having to do with language in general, humble but still has a backbone
[x] Turn off(s): stupidity, having to look up "chivalry" in the dictionary, not liking to read
[x] Does your parents’ opinion on your bf/gf matter to you? Yes, because I trust and respect my parents very much.
[x] What kind of hair style? Hm. I don't know, I've always had a think for guys with kind of long hair, but in the end it doesn't matter if they're bald as long as they've got a good personality.
[x] The sweetest thing a member of the opposite sex can do for you: know when you need a friend and just be that friend to you without expectations of anything more; hug you when you need it; dependability; honesty
[x] Where do you go to meet new people? I don't go out to meet people...unless you count MUN conferences and bookstores!
[x] Are you the type of person to holler and ask for numbers? Heh. Yeah. Right...
PICKY, PICKY:
[x] Dog or cat: Cat. Our household has always contained at least one cat since I was born and I intend to keep it that way. There's just something so soothing about petting a purring feline...natural stress-relief.
[x] Short or long hair: Hm. On me? I like both extremes, though I've never had long or short hair...probably short, though long enough that I can still put it up in a ponytail.
[x] Sunshine or rain: both at the same time.
[x] Moon or sun: Moon, if it comes along with the stars and a gorgeous clear night that I can look up at and get lost in...
[x] Basketball or football: British football!
[x] Righty or lefty: Hm. Right handed, left-minded.
[x] Hugs or kisses: Hugs.
[x] One best friend or ten acquaintances: One best friend, because it's better to have that soul-deep connection than just a bunch of shallow ones. A best friend means something.
[x] Bf/Gf or best friend: Best friend -- you always need one of those, whether your seven or seventy.
[x] T.V. or radio: TV
[x] Starbucks or Jamba Juice: Starbucks! Mmmm, cafes are the ownage.
[x] McDonalds or Burger King: Depends. I tend toward Burger King just because there are way too many McDonalds around.
[x] Summer or winter: winter, for the rain and the cold and the warm fires and hot chocolates and blue jeans and bulky sweatshirts.
[x] Written letters or e-mails: e-mails are more convenient, so I'd have to say e-mail. Though I still love getting letters in the mail.
[x] PlayStation or Xbox: neither -- don't have time for videogames!
[x] Disney or Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network: Difficult question. I'd have to say Disney because I like the old Disney animated movies more than the average person my age.
[x] Car, motorcycle or truck: Car. Most practical.
[x] House party or club: house, which means me and my friends sitting around and laughing and playing weird games like Apples to Apples and Queen Elephant.
[x] Sing or dance: Sing, because as many people over the course of my life have sneakily ascertained, I can't dance. I'd like to learn how to ballroom dance, though.
[x] Freak or slow dance: or ballroom, I pick that one!
[x] Yahoo messenger or AIM: AIM, though I'm rarely on.
[x] Google or Ask Jeeves: Google because of the name, and the fact that "google" is now an everyday verb in the English language
MISCELLANEOUS:
[x] Can you swim? considering the amount of time I spend in the water, I sure hope so!
[x] What’s your most embarrassing moment? I've had lots of those, I don't think that I remember too many specifics since there have been so many. Most involve me doing something completely stupid in front of a large group of people I respect and/or admire.
[x] What are you scared of? spiders, the things that live in the shadows, politics
[x] What is your greatest accomplishment? I don't know. I think that "greatest" is a subjective term. But probably for me, by greatest accomplishment is that I am a writer. (Though I don't think that's really an accomplishment, it's more like a personality trait by now.) But every day that ends with me in my bed still happy about being a writer -- that's a great accomplishment, in my mind.
[x] What kind of roof is over your head? A tall, white, slanting one that would have been painted with glow-in-the-dark constellations years ago if mom would've let me use the ladder. Or the paint...
[x] How many TVs in the house? 4
[x] How many phones? 4
[x] How many residents? 4, 5 if you count the cat
[x] How many DVDs do you have? Personally, I think I have 3 (go original Star Wars Trilogy!)
[x] Last dentist visit: a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...
[x] Last doctor visit: ditto to the above
[x] Last phone call: um...yesterday. Mom called my cell phone to tell me to go buy the book I needed at Barnes and Noble.
[x] Spell your name backwards: Ecadnac. (I can do that reflexively now, I got into the habit of writing things backwards in about first grade.)
[x] Have you ever had a song written about you? Not that I know of...if anyone has written a song about me, the least you could have done was tell me about it!
[x] What song makes you cry? Songs only make me cry in context. But "Down Once More" from Phantom of the Opera is the one that first comes to mind. There are more, but they're not coming to me now.
[x] What song makes you happy? Lots. "Alone" and "Captain's Chair" by Sanctus Real; "Elephant Love Medley" and "Come What May" from Moulin Rouge; "I'll Know" from Guys & Dolls; "I Smile" by Russ Lee...many more that aren't coming to mind, as well.
[x] What’s your all time favorite song? That's difficult...it tends to change over time. But high on the list are "Defying Gravity" from Wicked and "Alone" by Sanctus Real.
[x] What’s your all time favorite movie? Difficult one again. I like lots of movies, but my all-time favorite? Probably Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope or Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
[x] What do you listen to before you go to sleep? The silence. Or the rain, if it's raining, or crickets in the summer.
[x] Height: 5'4" last time I checked
[x] Hair color: auburn -- darker in the winter, lighter in the summer
[x] Piercing(s): none (unless you count that one time I fell upstairs and my braces poked a hole through my lip, but I had it sewed up so I don't think it qualifies)
[x] Tattoo(s): none, never intending to get any
RIGHT NOW:
[x] What color pants are you wearing? red -- they're my old MVHS PE shorts
[x] What song are you listening to? "Company Car" by Switchfoot
[x] What taste is in your mouth? toothpaste aftertaste
[x] What’s the weather like? sunny and hot -- the AC is on
[x] How are you? I'm pretty good, though I don't want to go and read Crime and Punishment
[x] Got motion sickness? nope, rarely do
[x] Have a bad habit? yes
[x] Get along with your parents? at the moment, and most of the time, really
[x] Have a big regret? no big ones, but a lot of small ones that I alternately am consumed by and attempt to ignore
FAVORITE:
[x] Have a favorite T.V. show? CSI (the original one), Law & Order (SVU is the best), Cold Case, X-Files (recently addicted from watching a marathon on the Sci-Fi Channel), Gilmore Girls
[x] Conditioner: L'Oreal
[x] Book: this fluctuates regularly between The Wizard's Dilemma by Diane Duane; Wizard's Holiday, also by DD; A Thousand Words for Stranger and Migration by Julie E. Czerneda; and at times Wicked by Gregory Maguire.
[x] Non-Alcoholic drink: hot chocolate in the winter, caramel frappuccino in the summer
[x] Alcoholic drink: don't have one
[x] Things to do on the weekend: see friends, do homework, read, research for MUN conferences, write!, be bored for no apparent reason, go to the beach, bike ride, see movies...
HAVE YOU EVER.
[x] Ran away from home? no
[x] Snuck out of the house? nope
[x] Ever gone skinny dipping? never
[x] Made a prank phone call? not that I recall, though I've been in the room while others prank called
[x] Tipped over a Port-o-Potty? that is sick, of course not!
[x] Use your parents’ credit card? I don't think so...unless you count them giving me the card so I can buy something online that they've already approved...
[x] Skipped school before? not when I wasn't mortally sick
[x] Fell asleep in the shower/bath? I've come very close a few times, but never actually lost consciousness.
[x] Been in a school play? a whole bunch in elementary school, and even one in middle school
[x] Had children? not yet
[x] Been hurt? I think that you can't get through life without being hurt sometimes.
RANDOM:
[x] Have a job? no, I kind of want one but I don't have time. I do tutor people occasionally, though.
[x] Your CD player has what in it right now? I don't know, Corinne stole it...but I'm listening to songs from Guys & Dolls on my Pocket DJ...
[x] If you were a crayon, what color would you be? Some really cool shade of red with a great name...
[x] What makes you happy? hugs; small fuzzy kittens; warm sand beneath my feet and in between my toes; wiping out after a really good skimboarding run; the end of a good book; being with my friends; writing just for me and not for anyone else; singing like no one's listening (whether or not they are); being myself; cloaks and other medieval clothing; getting that song on the piano note-for-note perfect finally, after so much practice; hot chocolate; campfires; Christmastime
[x] The next CD you’re going to buy: um...don't buy CDs that much. Maybe the Guys & Dolls cast recording, I only have a few tracks from it at the moment
WHEN/WHAT WAS THE LAST (TIME):
[x] You got a real letter? Um...a long time ago, I can't remember
[x] Got an email? this morning, even though it was just spam
