I keep saying that there are all of these TV shows I'm gonna watch, and I never do. So here they are:

White Collar
old Doctor Who (as much of it as I can get my hands on)
Star Trek, ALL OF IT (yes I know this is crazy and may take a few lifetimes, especially as I haven't started yet!)
maybe Supernatural? Tried to watch it years back and it never stuck, but perhaps it deserves another try?
Sarah Jane Adventures, because duh. Though I'd kind of like to encounter her in old!Who before watching this show... *ponders*
Warehouse 13, because people I trust say it's good

Hm. That's actually a lot shorter of a list than I thought it would be. Granted, some of these have been on the air for YEARS and I have a lot of catching up to do, but it doesn't look as unmanageable as it might have before.

(Also, every time I use this icon it makes me unbelievably happy. If tea solves all problems, and the Doctor solves most problems, then Doctor + tea = pretty damn awesome.)

OMG, right here for when you need advice on what Star Trek to watch first.

Also, here is an awesome intro post to Deep Space Nine, if that helps. ;)

Hee, I figured that a post like this would likely garner me some advice :) The same friend who says I should watch Supernatural also gave me a Short Verbal History of Star Trek a year ago before we went to go see the new movie at midnight (which was my first real Trek), and she really liked DS9. I think I'm just daunted by how much Star Trek is out there and how massive the fandom is. It's a little intimidating! But I know a lot of people are probably getting into it because of the new movie, so I wouldn't be the only one.

I have all the Star Trek and every Who with Tom Baker... if you want a copy? Having seen every episode of Star Trek and all the films, I'd say that DS9 is my favorite but it would be better to watch them in chronological order (real world, not Trek universe, so TOS first then TNG, etc). Then again, for you, Picard might make a better introduction.

I possibly cannot even express how much I would love a copy of that. YOU ARE AWESOME.

I hope you have a big hard drive. That's over 30 seasons, maybe closer to 40. I've seen 2 or 3 of the 4-part episodes with Baker. He's a little harder for me to get into than the 2005 doctors. We'll have to swap files soon. My move in date is Monday evening.

Don't know if I have much to trade you in return, unless you want the first three seasons of new Doctor Who? But am certainly willing to share :)

I have checked my hard drive and apparently I have ~200GB free space. But my parents are visiting in early September and I'm planning on having them bring my external HD which has ~600GB free space. I am very excited about all of this.

I have all of the post-2005 Who.

I suggested maybe you start with TNG because I thought you'd fall in love with Picard, but I remember now that you remind me at times of Capt Janeway. I guess what I'm trying to say is, all the series are good.

Oh man, if there is Shakespeare in the Trek universe then I obviously need to get going. :) If it's all good I'll probably go in the order that the series aired; I'm usually a stickler for stuff like that.

Starting to watch old Who during my last year of university was why I ended up doing my dissertation the night before it was due. I'm just saying. ;)

But watch it! Because it's wonderful! And Sarah Jane Adventures! And Trek! :D

Thanks...I'm still gonna watch it anyway :) And frankly I don't think I am physically capable of doing things the day before they're due. The universe might tear itself apart if I tried!

Warehouse 13 is absolutely adorable. No joke, it's the cutest ever.

Also, there's an episode of old Who, the one where Sarah Jane and the Doctor first meet? You need to see that episode before anyone other Sarah Jane. She is bloody precious.

This is what everyone is saying about Warehouse 13. Upon vague descriptions it sounded a little like the fabulous TNT movie "The Librarian: Quest for the Spear" with Noah Wyle (which you should see if you haven't), but with less forging through jungles and such.

And it was always my plan to watch at least some (if not all) of Sarah Jane's first run on the show before watching the more recent stuff. I am generally a stickler for chronological order!
