Not much going on with me lately, except for insane doses of homework and a parade of neverending tests, projects, quizzes, essays, deadlines, and MUN conferences. (Okay, so not really MUN conferences...I've only been to two this year. But I'm already signed up for three more this semester...so I guess it counts.)

I don't think I did well on my essay today in English. Everyone will now read this and tell me that I'm silly because I can't do badly in English...but I honestly don't think I aced this one. I have a gut feeling that it's not even gonna be a low A. But who knows, maybe I'm the only one who thinks my essay was a badly-organized, distracted piece of dung.

I had Mock Trial practice today...I'd be more excited about the thing if more people knew what they were doing. Nonetheless, enough of our lawyers have some measure of sense. As long as they knock it into the rest of the lawyers, we're fine. If the lawyers know what to do and when to do it, I think we can pull it off.

And today ends the second day of NaNoWriMo, and I have already achieved my quota for tomorrow: 5,000 words. I think the last time I wrote that much over two days, I was on vacation. Actually, come to think of it, I don't think I've ever written that much over such a short period of time. So I'm encouraged by what this project is teaching me.

There was an absolutely ridiculous test in MUN today, but I'm used to those by now.

Tony and I get to crash Novice Security Council for High Tech High MUN conference in December -- that'll be fun.

I got to the UCLA conference next weekend! Finally, something fun -- though it really just means less time in which to do my schoolwork. Ah well...everything comes with its price. "Life has loveliness to sell..."

And now I depart, for it is late and if I type any louder someone's bound to storm in and ask me (violently) why I'm not in bed.

Oh, and I have a math test tomorrow that's going to kill me, in case anyone was curious. It's so confusing...I don't want to have to take an AP test in Calculus! Then again...it was my choice to take the class in the first place. I didn't have to move ahead. So I should just shut up with the complaining...

I have a pocket pc with a fold-out keyboard. I bring it to school and type in class instead of paying attention. Also, I had really definite ideas for where I wanted to go with the beginning of my story. Now...let's just say that I am still plotless, but am starting to feel the effects of it. I'm hoping to have time tonight to plan out a bit of what happens next.

lol, that's ok. I've hit *my* first day of procrastination. Last night, i made the mistake of picking up a book and starting to read... I haven't read a book for fun since August, right before school started...

So, tell me, have you read the book Wicked? Picked it up... totally repulsive graphic sex scene in the beginning. Don't suggest it.

um...I kinda *liked* Wicked. I've read it one and a half times, and went and saw the musical this summer. I bought the sequel but haven't had time to read it yet.

Yeah...it is graphic. Austin read it before I did and he was literally walking around and shuddering as he was reading it. But we agree that there's maybe a reason for all the graphic-ness. That the author is (hopefully) using it to make a point. And that, whether or not that's the intent, a point is made by it anyway.

I don't know if you'd like it...but I did, in that odd, why-in-the-world-do-I-like-it sort of way.

Love the musical, but the beginning scene made me set the book down... however, beyond that it is good?

And that's again the only reason I didn't, so no need to apologize for it... hehe.

It's good in spurts, but it's also grotesque in spurts. I like how it portrays humans, and how it explores the whole good vs. evil thing. But I definitely wouldn't recommend it to everyone...it's a "reader beware" situation.

On all the school stuff- Good luck on that. lol

Concerning Nano- Oi, I FINALLY finalized my idea today, so I'm way behind, but not that I have a definite direction, it'll be easy to start writing. The problem is just timing. Awesome job getting so far, though! =]
