Fanficton
Do you read or write fanfiction?both
When did you first start reading/writing fanfiction?I started reading it a while ago -- probably in 2000. But I've only been writing it for less than 2 years.
What was your first fandom?Harry Potter
First ship?Nita/Kit from the Young Wizards Books by Diane Duane (which no one reads)
What website do you use most?fanfiction.net
What do you think of Fanfiction.net?eh, it's okay, but it's too large to effectively enforce all of its rules, which means that some people get away with things that others don't
What fandoms have you written in?Young Wizards, Harry Potter, Julie E. Czerneda's books (hurrah for obscurity!), Wicked (the book, not the musical), Phantom of the Opera, Star Wars, X-Files, the Giver (one random poem-fic), Rhapsody Trilogy
Pairings?Hm. Nita/Kit and Roshaun/Dairine (Young Wizards), Lupin/Tonks (Harry Potter), Sira/Jason (Czerneda, and it's canon!), Han/Leia (Star Wars), Mulder/Scully (X-Files), Erik/Christine (Phantom of the Opera). But those are more of pairings I read than pairings I write, because I don't think I'm good at writing romance so I tend not to.
Any fandoms you would like to write in?none that I haven't already written in -- I'm pretty much all over the board
Do reviews affect how you write in any way?Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. They mostly affect the way the plots of my stories develop, if I'm unsure of what should happen next.
Do you use a beta?Nope, but I've never gotten complaints.
What ratings do you read/write?I write G - PG13. I tend not to read R stories unless they start out as a lower rating and I like the writing enough to keep with the story through the rating increase, or if I really like an author's work and they begin a new story which is rated R.
What warnings have you used on your fiction/read?Mostly just spoiler warnings.
Do you have any squicks? If I had any idea what a "squick" was, maybe I could answer that.
Do you Role-play online? If so, what?Nope, never roleplayed.
Have you ever stolen something from another person's work?I have never stolen, and even if I borrow the tiniest idea for plot or setting I first ask the person I'm borrowing from and then mention that it was theirs to begin with.
Favorite fandom to write/read?Changes with the times. But if I had to pick one overall...probably Young Wizards. That fandom has the greatest variety of plots and quality of writing, while remaining small enough that I can keep up with the writers in the community.
Favorite pairing?Depends on if I'm writing or if I'm reading. Writing...probably Kit/Nita, because nothing (canon) has happened with them yet. For reading, it really depends upon the author's skill.
Favorite writer/writers?Jasen Morgan, Robinton, Limelight, Wandering Child
How long should a chapter be?As long as it needs to be.
Do you write/read drabbles?I read 'em if they're posted and I write 'em but rarely post 'em.
Any fandoms you avoid?not specifically
Pairings you avoid?anything that's really unreasonable or non-canon
Warnings you avoid?I tend to listen to most of them.
Do the number of reviews tell how good a story is?Generally they don't; I don't like reading stories that have too many reviews. I usually browse until I find one that looks well-written and under-reviewed.
What do you think of Mary Sues? They're annoying...but we all do them sometimes. Most of us just have the decency to not post them on the 'net.
Have you ever flamed someone?Never; I believe in doing to others what I'd have them do to me, and I don't want flames.
Have you ever been flamed?...sort of. Not very fiercely...but I think they still count.
That's it, aren't you glad?Yes. Now I can go do homework. Hurrah for Mr. Vargish.
