So...as I was saying, Humanities election is going well. We had Art Olivier in to talk to us today, which was king of neat -- not that I particularly agree with his political beliefs, but it was really cool to get a chance to talk to someone who's a part of the political process.

I didn't have much homework today so my plan was to get caught up, but as so often happens, plans went astray and I ended up doing some homework, sleeping, and helping Corinne set up an account on www.nanowrimo.org in order to inspire her to actually write a novel this time around. I don't know if I think she'll make it to 50k, but I think that anything over 10k would be considered a great accomplishment by her and I'm going to do my best to let her know that I think so. However, I'm going to try to get her as close to 50k as possible, even if it means lending her my laptop occasionally and writing on my pocket PC instead. I'm really excited that she's participating this year, and she's got a pretty interesting story idea -- a combination of the storylines of a bunch of her favorite books/plays, set in mid-1800s England. The stories she's combining are The Phantom of the Opera, Cyrano de Bergerac, and Pride and Prejudice. As I said, interesting...but I think that she can do it, and do it creatively. And I think it has the potential to be an awesome experience for her.

By the way...if any others among you decide to do this you should let me know so that we can organize parties and "write-ins" sometime during November, wherein we sit and write and sip hot cocoa and act literary. (I've always wanted to attend a write-in organized by one of the area supervisors, but they're always so far away! The closest kickoff party, for example, is in Anaheim.)

Um...that's really about it. I've got things I should be doing, but once Corinne's done with her shower we're going to watch the season finale of Project Runway, which she taped a while ago. Days like this really aren't so bad.

As I tried to say earlier, I think it's nice that you and your sister are so close! But these write-ins of yours... they sound far away!

Heh. Corinne and I are close sometimes. Other times we are better off loving each other from the distance. Some days I like her and some days I don't, but we always love eachother...I think it might be a girl thing.

I'm sorry for the faraway-ness of the write-ins. But if you sign up on the nanowrimo website, you can see if there are any near you (granted, I would not be present at those).
